What is Off Campus Student Services?

Student Services serves students who do not live in university controlled housing, and Off-Campus Student Services, is dedicated to celebrating the life of the city that surrounds and intersects our campus. We serve the students who live in both communities. Whether you are across the street , in Goochland, or house in  Johnson Hall, you need to know what is happening and how to get the most out of living in Richmond.Whether you study on the Monroe Park Campus or the MCV Campus, and whether you are 18 or 80, you need information about what’s happening at VCU and what your city has to offer for your personal development and enjoyment.

You can follow VCU Off-Campus Student Services on Twitter,

@MobileMajority on Facebook and on our Blog

for great conversations about living and thriving in Richmond.

Off-Campus Housing Assistance

 Search

The majority of VCU students live off-campus by personal choice. They have found that Richmond is a great place to live and there is plenty of housing for all lifestyles. Whether you want to live across the street or in the country, you need to get educated about roommate choices, tenant rights, neighborhoods, and safety while searching for your home away from home.

Alternative Transportation

The Off-Campus Student Services office has lots of tips and advice on making your way to, and from VCU, less stressful for you and for the environment. Think alternatively, bring your bike ride to the Great Bike Round Up, get help with bus routes, learn about commuting smart, where to park your scooter, or sharing rides. For ridesharing be sure to use

Zimride

a new ride sharing program limited to the VCU community by EID access  membership.

Programming

Off-Campus Student Services offers a variety of educational programs for living right. Learn about the process for securing housing that will be safe, comfortable and sensible with our spring programs called

Moving On Moving Out  and My Big Green Neighborhood Tour Make the landlords compete for your business at the annual Off-Campus Living Fair and bring your bike to the  Great Bike Round-Up for great tips on cycling in Richmond and other alternative transportation options.

The Commuter CoffeeBRAKE is a frequent program during the Spring and Fall semesters. Off-Campus students can stop by the location, find out information from our co-sponsors and enjoy a cup of coffee on the go.

Facilities

Off-campus students need services that are readily available to resident students. Our facilities offer several conveniences to help with making the off-campus student at home on campus. Lockers are available in The Commons for both semester and daily use. Hunton Student Center and the Commons both have microwaves for heating food from home located in very accessible areas. Larrick Student Center is the home to Recreational Sports on the MCV campus and has reservable meeting rooms. All three locations have restaurants that take Dining Dollars and offer a wide variety of choices.

Both Hunton Student Center and The Student Commons have an

Information Center

for answering any question and for loaning bike pumps, bike locks, car battery jumpers office supplies and more.
