Speaking From the Heart Speaker Series

In February of 2007 we had the opportunity to bring Dr. Patch Adams (an Alumnus of the MCV Campus) to speak at VCU. Adams is the founder and director of the Gesundheit Institute, a health facility treating patients who do not otherwise have the means to secure proper health care. Adams stresses that healing should not be a business transaction we should offer loving, creative, humorous approaches to doctor-patient relationships, and he advocates mutual benefits. His enlightening presentation stirs audiences to emulate the compassion that he personifies.
